I’ve been busy packing and moving so haven’t been able to blog a lot this week. Between all the shopping and general madness that’s involved in apartment hopping, I did manage to hit up Koton’s Spring Summer Preview at Story: The Rooftop lounge in Dubai Media City.
Some key spring summer ’14 trends and statement pieces stand out in the womenswear collection. For instance, the monochrome trend is interpreted in Koton’s jackets, dresses and shirts- I’m loving the black and white with pops of color for spring- in stark contrast to the usual seasonal floral prints, but definitely stunning.
I also picked out some pieces from Koton’s nautical-inspired collection. Cant go wrong with those classic blue-and-white stripes in the spring sun, can we? There’s a lot of attention to detail in this collection, with rope detailing and anchor embellishments on the pieces. Animal prints continue to rule this season, with safari-inspired dresses, tees and shirts. White, pale pink, cloudy gray, indigo blue, emerald green, soil tones, wine and forest fruit colors dominate the collection.
Koton’s Olé collection shows off a delicious mix of pastels and floral prints to headline Olé’s ‘love girl’ theme, with an emphasis on rose prints and marine stripes. Also, not to be missed is the tribal-inspired, Traveler collection- boho chic to the hilt!
