Firstly, wish you a very happy new year! May 2015 be full of happy surprises, fun and love for all readers of Fashionably Yours.
As far as new year resolutions go, I’ve made a couple this year- to learn something new. So I’ve picked photography because it’s not only useful in my line of work as a writer but it’s such a beautiful, complex art. The other resolution is to make more ME time! Incidentally, this is also the theme for December’s Therapy box, which I unboxed excitedly, as soon as I returned from my year –end vacation. Oh and what did I find? My favorite brand of earphones- Skullcandy for women! A close second favorite is the amazing 2015 diary, which I know I’ll use everyday, considering how I love making lists and plans everyday.
Incase you missed my previous post on Therapy Box, this is a monthly subscription box which includes all things fabulous – across categories such as books, beauty and fashion, lifestyle, gadgets and home décor- meant to inspire and enrich the lives of the modern, independent woman. Think of it like therapy for your body, mind and soul, packaged in a box and delivered to your doorstep.
In a lot of ways, the December box is just what I needed. Here are some highlights:
Skin Republic Foot Peel and Hand Repair: If you’re strapped for salon time salon, just pamper yourself at home! The foot peel specifically is amazing – once you use it, your dead skin starts shedding naturally over a period of a week leaving you with gorgeous soft feet. The hand repair is great because the treatment comes in gloves – so you simply cut the gloves open, put them on and let the cream work its magic. So often, when you put cream on your hands, you immediately put your hands back in water and counteract the good that the cream was supposed to do. With this, you’re free to continue working with your hands and get the treatment at the same time!
Figs & Rouge Lip balm: I’ve just happened to try this brand for the first time last month and simply cannot stop recommending it to friends. 100% natural, anti-oxidant rich, and petroleum and Paraben free, this lip balm was a life-saver for me on my latest holiday. The cherry blossom lip tint in December’s Therapy Box is even more amazing, thanks to the lovely cherry tint. Lip tint is perfect for casual days when you don’t want to commit to full-on lipstick but still want some color, and it moisturizes your lips as well. It also happens to taste pretty good!
Sticky notes: Oh I love these! Handy and compact, these little notes are great to put reminders for your laptop, fridge, desk, bathroom and any other place of important business.
2015 journal: I’ve been looking for a good journal for a while, simply to jot down to-do lists, short term goals or just assimilate my thoughts. Besides, I really fancy the idea of penning down moments along the year and looking back on next new year’s eve. So old-school and undoubtedly cool. Designed by Reve du Sol and the Design Republic, this neat little spiral bound journal aims to be therapeutic in more ways than one, with soul-searching ideas and inspiring notes for each month… “Our wish for you this year is to seek, discover and embrace all that is truly beautiful in your life,” they say.
Skull Candy Dime earphones for women: This is my top pick for the month. I used to be absolutely nuts about Skull Candy when I was younger and even though I’ve experimented with other earphones over the years, these will always be special to me. The ones packed in Therapy Box are unique as they’re made especially for women, since women’s ears are apparently different to men’s (who knew!). I also love the cute pouch for keeping the earphones untangled and safe inside bags. How thoughtful!
I love the December box even more than the launch edition in November. Thanks to Box Therapy, its a squeal-worthy start to the new year.
