Amsterdam photo diary

Hello folks!
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged but I’ve been super busy with work, travel and debilitating nausea. In my 4th month of pregnancy, I decided I was good to go on vacation, that too, to Amsterdam (and Belgium)! While I did miss doing all the ‘good stuff’ that the city is famous for and all the amazing beer tasting, I did enjoy Amsterdam’s natural beauty, its progressive culture and of course, the amazing food. Here’s what I saw and did on my rather ‘PG-13’ rated trip in the land of vices.
Also, a quick train ride to Antwerp and Bruges made the trip all the more memorable- you’ll see why.

A trip to the tech-savvy Amsterdam museum is a must for a thorough understanding of the history and culture of the Netherlands. Did you know the first ever stock exchange in the world is in Amsterdam? Also, the Dutch East India Company was the very first multinational company ever?

Weed pops! Take the 'Ultimate ganja tour' with Free Tours (www.freetours.com) for a good understanding of the pot culture, its history and significance. They'll even show you around some local coffee shops where you can choose from an exhaustive menu and take home the good stuff. There's also fun brownies to indulge in!

The 16th century medieval town retains much of its old-world charm with brick-lined streets and quaint houses like these, which, by the way, you can stay in as a BnB.
