The classic American Banana Republic now has a French connection. As far as designer collaborations go, this one is one of the sharpest, with French designer, Roland Mouret’s signature sleek and chic twist. The 25 piece capsule collection includes dresses, skirts, and shirts for women in Banana Republic’s ‘Sloan’, contour stretch fabric. The collection is absolutely flattering, thanks to its precision fit –perfect for that classic fit- and-flare silhouette for the upcoming autumn winter and holiday seasons.
The French designer has been making dresses for women for the past 15 years spanning New York, London and Paris. Mouret is best known for his feminine, hourglass fitted dresses, which have become a favorite among Hollywood stars. In 2006, he became a household name when A-listers first wore his famous Galaxy dress on the red carpet.
“Partnering with Banana Republic on this project was such an adventure for me,” says Roland Mouret, founder and designer of his namesake label. “The common goal for this collection is to offer incredible fit through an assortment of hourglass silhouettes using Banana Republic’s Sloan fabric, extending my love of structure into accessible prices. These pieces are multifunctional for the modern woman to wear and accessorize in her own way, making her always ready for life’s journey.”
Key details include bold color blocking, graphic perforated details, leopard prints, playful proportions and svelte cuts on everything from blazers and pencil skirts to sheath dresses. Prices range from 275 AED/QAR, 21 KD to 595 AED/QAR 46KD.
I fell in love with a navy cropped blazer which I simply had to pick up from the Banana Republic store at The Dubai Mall. Considering this is a limited edition piece and the extraordinary cut, it’s an absolute steal. The fit at the shoulders and around the arms, and the cut at the waist is unmatched and I cannot wait to spruce up my fall outfits with this chic number.
The collection is now available in Banana Republic stores worldwide and online.
