Dubai’s Fashion Bloggers Mind The Gap!

March 8, 2013

“A styling and photography workshop with Gap and Emirates Woman Magazine? YES please!” That was my first reaction to the invite to the closed door bloggers’ session invite sitting in my inbox. The 8 am call time was tough for sure, but once inside the store, we were up and about within minutes!

The stylist took us through spring summer’s key looks- printed and bright denim, monochromes and flashes of neon, being the biggest influences. The senior photographer from Emirates Woman Magazine even let us in on some best kept photography secrets for fashion blogging- and god knows I needed that!

We were then given a challenge to style up with Gap using the new collection in store… in under 5 minutes!

What followed was a massive uproar of squeals and excited chatter- what else would you expect from 8 super loud girls whipping up a tornado of amazing clothes and accessories?

I instantly grabbed the pair of bright pink denims and deep navy blue blazer with green accents. Next, I quickly accessorized with an animal print blue and pearl grey scarf, a hot pink and orange color blocked iPad case and voila! I was ready in 5 minutes, as promised. Here are some of the pics from the shoot, feature in this month’s Emirates Woman Magazine.

Here’s my Q& A that went along with the feature in Emirates Woman:

My #1 Style rule: Never over- accessorize and always dress according to your body shape.
Describe your style in one sentence:  Simple, eclectic and fun!
My top SS 13 trends are: Skater (pleated and flare) skirts, colored and printed denim trousers.
I can’t live without: LBDs and heels!
At Gap I always buy: My hoodies and my totes
What do you love most about your outfit: The outfit I put together is perfect for a day at work- I particularly love the pink pants!
Where and when do you blog? Well, I blog in my PJs at home, twice a week!
Fashion is: subjective! Too each their own
What does style mean to you?: It means being myself and expressing myself through fashion.
