FY Reviews: Modelco Fiberlash Mascara

Tired of reading the same old “double volume” and “triple length” and “5x thicker” claims of mascara brands, I’d almost made up my mind about not believing any of those back-of-the-box copies. I happened to pick up this new product that’s just launched in Dubai, which claims not only to offer all three of the above features, but also claims to look exactly like false lashes- without the sticky adhesive and the heavy lids, that is.

This brand has come up with this unique ‘Fiberlash’ technology, which helps ‘build’ and extend lashes, with the help of brush –on nylon fibre, which when in contact with lash follicles, instantly transform into brush on false eye lashes.  Kylie Minogue’s sister, Danii is brand ambassador in Australia, where Modelco Fiberlash Mascara is all the rage.

The product comes in bright pink packaging, which instantly has my approval. There are two lash applicators inside- The taller one is a normal black mascara while the smaller one is the show stealer- the fiber lash applicator. I applied the black one first and was a bit iffy about putting on the fiber lash- It looked like cotton stuck on the mascara and looked like it too, on my lashes. I wore another coat of the black mascara on top and realized how amazingly voluptuous my lashes really looked. A.ma.z.i.n.g result! I found that the mascara is also smudge and tear proof, apart from being super long lasting.

The only small glitch is in removing the mascara. I had to be very careful in order not to pluck out my lashes along with the product. The formula is a bit heavy, so I’d suggest reserving this mascara for special occasions which call for extra flirty lashes… and God knows there are so many of them :- P

The product has won the 2011 Harpers Bazaar UK HOT 100 List – ‘TOP LASH SECRET’  and 2010 Australian Beauty Awards – ‘Most innovative new product in Make up’.
