As you can tell from my headline, I’ve been engaging in some serious old school console gaming (read: Mortal Kombat) while still in soggy Bombay and dealing with extremely humid weather and very badly behaved skin. Even my hair would’ve started to act up, if it wasn’t for my trusted travel companion, Rehab by Lush – I call it the shampoo that whips my hair into shape, come hell or high water… or wretched humidity.
Although I found the fragrance to be a bit strong at first, the effect the shampoo had on my hair had me completely flip for it! It’s ideal for oily roots and dry ends like mine and absolutely necessary for travel junkies who have to deal with changing weather and water conditions. I love that I can travel without a care, while Rehab makes sure I have a good hair day while I’m at it!
I’m really also into CC creams, all of a sudden. I had dismissed them when they first appeared, as just another gimmick by beauty marketers but now I find myself eating my words. Why? Because here’s the difference between BB and CC creams:
Beauty Balm: BB cream
Skin type: Generally these suits oily skin best but there are specially formulated bb creams for dry and combination skin too. Read the fine print!
Coverage: Light to moderate – I found that it never actually hides blemishes
Texture: Cream based
I like: Bourjois BB cream- works like magic!
Color Corrector: CC Cream
Skin type: All skin types but those with uneven skin tone, patchy skin and combination skin will love this product more.
Coverage: Very light coverage and does not conceal blemishes but is very effective in evening out the skin tone. Light-diffusing particles and mineral pigments in CC powders boost the skin texture and tone.
Texture: Powder, fast absorbing gel or cream.
I like: MAC CC powder
I’ve found my skin to lap up CC powders like its never loved anything else before.
Since it’s pouring cats and dogs here, waterproof mascara becomes the no. 1 cause for concern. I’ve tried products in the market that promise to be waterproof but end up making me look like a horror movie reject. But that was until I tried the new launch by Maybelline- the Colossal Volume Express Waterproof Mascara. Not only does it have a very flattering effect on my eyes, but also actually makes sure its not ruined by rain or tears (as dramatic as it sounds). This one’s a keeper!
