Lipsy showcases its Spring/Summer 2015 collection in Dubai, UAE this week. Highlights are its signature spring summer blossom prints on skirts and dresses and fitted silhouettes. Below are some of the trends featured prominently in the collection:
This trend is designed with the city girl in mind, drawing inspiration from the dynamic world of the style blogger. The cutting edge design techniques are for the girl that loves to stay ahead of the fash pack. The statement colour palette is bold with orange and electric blue flashes complemented by statement stripes. This trend introduces new bonded fabrics overlaid with grid detailing and finished using the tipping technique. The coordinated twin set remains a key look for spring within this trend.
Eden is the perfect day to night look for SS15. A soft colour wheel along with textured lace creates a product perfect for festivals, parties and days out. Daywear has a relaxed, bohemian feel while nightwear features tone on tone artworks and applique lace techniques on classic Bodycon shapes.
Butterfly Sorbet uses a feminine palette perfect for weddings, proms and summer balls, with key colours of pale yellow, mint, coral and navy. With ladylike floral prints, textured fabrics, lace contrast with modern laser cutting and mesh panelling.
This structured and dynamic trend makes the cut and detail of the product the fashion focus. Taking inspiration from the resort shows of SS15, the directional design techniques include tipping, solid and sheer fabrication finished with exposed zip detailing. The colour palette incorporates graphic monochrome stripes with complements of coral and navy hues.
Introducing florals in a fresh new way. The staple print has been reworked in darker tones, reflecting the hues of the SS15 catwalk shows. The brand new print is overlaid with delicate lace, solid and sheer striping as well as a harder edge grid fabrication to give the wardrobe staple an exciting new update for the new year.
The utility and military trends derived from the runway shows of Nicole Miller, Roland Mouret and the ever-pioneering Balmain make up this show-stopping style. Signature uniform khaki is highlighted with shots of colour and tropical print florals. This updated trend looks to a sportier and edgier feel with updated fabrics and fresh silhouettes.
Michelle Keegan’s debut spring line for Lipsy:
After a succession of popular collections, Michelle Keegan is back with a fresh new take on her style inspirations and re-worked classics.
The colour palette for this range has incorporated the timeless monochrome trend. By playing with all manner of decorative designs, the range provides a fresh black & white makeover. Against this monochrome backdrop sits highlights of softer hues.
This season there is a shift towards cooler sides of the colour spectrum, with a mix of ethereal understated brights, pale pastels and soft cool tones that took centre stage at the SS15 catwalks. The range incorporates flashes of hot pink for an injection of colour.
Like previous collections this new line offers a dress wardrobe full of shapes and styles that Michelle herself champions. The ever-popular spaghetti strap style has transcended seasons and for this spring comeback it has been re-worked in a variety of styles, from an orchid printed evening look to a mono premium lace that’s perfect for special occasions.
