The presentation included sheer tunics layered over diaphanous chiffon trousers, sleeveless tops, crystal ethnic-inspired embroideries, and maxi dresses covered in white beading depicting crouching tigers and swirling dragons.

I was invited to the preview at this far-away, exotic, organic resort called ‘The Farm’ at Al Barari (Dubai), for very sassy do last night, and I must say, the glitzy, sequin laden guests did their best to outshine each other- love that about Dubai, don’t we :–)

If you love solid, primary colors, you’re going to love the bright, candy-licious hues and clean cuts in Michael Kors’ incredibly juicy spring ’13 collection. I did and I’m head over heels in love with the spring bags, especially this white and gold number I couldn’t get my eyes off. Another very casual- chic ensemble that caught my attention was this metallic brown full length skirt paired with a white tank top and a statement pendant- simply fabulous!

Marni Resort Collection 2013- Mall of the Emirates, Dubai

The preview of Marni Resort 2013 at Mall of The Emirates- Dubai, was deliciously inviting, with gourmet canapés and virgin mojitos and yet, the most delectable element of the evening was Marni’s accessories collection! Think leather pendants with cabochons and necklaces with stylized flower pendants encrusted with stones. Even the sunglasses had the distinct Marni personality with big visors- either geometric with a subtle metal rim or almond shaped and futuristic in layered acetate.

Within the resort collection, I particularly loved the bold prints and the curved volume seen in dresses-  a very modernist approach. And the color palette is gorgeous! It’s warm and earthy, but with slivers of cool colours- tobacco, rust, ochre are interspersed with dusty pink, light blue, pale grey and midnight blue. The prints in the collection are rhythmic, merging geometries, organic forms and blooming flowers… Artsy, just like Marni meant it to be!
