Fashionably Yours had such a blast dressing the Benetton Window at Dubai Mall this weekIt’s always fun dismantling the mannequins and styling them from scratch but the latest summer collection at Benetton this time totally blew me away.

For the first mannequin, I picked a deep green (my new fav) sleeveless top with a zipper behind and a high waist white linen skirt. I topped up the look with a large tangerine bag and flat sandals for a very – summer holiday-chic look.

The next mannequin was styled for a relaxed day look. A pair of cotton pants is coupled with a cute, striking red-orange halter top and brown wedges. Nothing says easy- chic better!

As part of the United Bloggers of Benetton project, Fashionably Yours took off to mix, match and style three distinct looks from their latest collection in store. Loved some of the bright pieces and a few really pretty, flirty summer dresses from Summer ’12:  Here’s what I came up with

The floral maxi and turban:
I was instantly drawn to this very summery, off shoulder cotton maxi dress in orange and green. There was another color option but I couldn’t resist this palette. Teamed it with a pair of bright orange stappy wedges and a wide rimmed hat for fun!

The denim playsuit:
Fell in love with this relaxed, supercute denim playsuit that’s perfect for summer in Dubai. I picked up a pair of funky bright headphones and this adorable orange fabric bag with white sandals to complete the look.

Working it:
I couldn’t take my eyes off these chic trousers in bottle green- undoubtedly the color of the season. A white halter top, black pumps and bag complete the look for work.

Worn by women since ancient times and popularized by style icons of the ‘40s and ‘50s, the iconic turban makes a fierce comeback this summer. Inspired by Indian and African culture, turbans are now being embellished, dyed, twisted and contemporized for women. Androgynous and eclectic, FY is in love with the turban trend!

I never thought I’d be able to pull it off up until I had a chance to try some gorgeous turbans myself, at Dubai based designer store, Malaak.  Made of Indian raw silk and embellished with sequins and even animal print turbans had me in a tizzy! I knew I just HAD to get my hand on these…

Alternately, one could even try a DIY turban with a long scarf- just wrap it around the head once, starting from the base of your neck,  knot it once at the top of your head and then repeat the action once more. I’d like to wear mine on one of these hot sunny days with long dangling earrings and a strapless maxi dress for the boho chic effect.
