As a woman who is proud to be called a “geek” for as long as I can remember, I don’t consider it a bad thing at all. Hell to the no! So naturally when my darling Fashionably Yours asked me to a write a post with my “personality” in it, it was a no brainer- Fashionable tech. I’m talking about technology that deems you HOT.
Every woman must have:
1) A smartphone which is actually a smart phone!
It’s all about finding the perfect mix of style and substance while choosing a smartphone. The phone is an extension of yourself, which means that it must make your life easier but keep the hotness quotient up. So NO and I mean no CHEAP NOKIAs. Get yourself a Touchphone and watch the fun! Top options:

Personally I never liked cellphone covers, but if you do want one for your new phone, make sure you stay away from the hard plastic cases. They add extra unwanted weight and just look very very tacky. Instead, get the nice rubber transparent covers from Capdase which come in every colour possible! Stay away from boring plain colors, get some sexy prints on or better still, make your own sticker for the back. These can be either be done by printing the image you want yourself or just go to the nearest mall guy who prints those ugly faces on mugs and stuff, they should be able to do that for you. The phone represents you, so do not be afraid to go all out!

2) A slim laptop, preferably a tablet.
A laptop is your data hub. It stores your life’s work ( pictures, excel sheets, music….everything!) and is probably the second most important gadget you own. So while choosing a lappie, remember to always make sure it fits into your bag easily, IS WI-FI COMPATIBLE , is not too heavy and you shouldn’t feel the need to carry a separate laptop bag. Make sure to always protect your lappie with a case. There are the cloth covers from Logitech or CaseLogic or head over to your local HideDesign Store for some really nice leather laptop bags.
Another thing to consider is a tablet, because its much lighter than the laptop and a much better gadget for ladies on the go.

3) A Bluetooth headset.
This is a no-brainer. Generally bluetooth headsets are not the prettiest things in the world, but this year has brought in some really nice shapely ones!

4) An iPod Touch + headphones.

The iPod Touch by itself with the shiny metal back and ultra freaking slim form factor makes it the perfect music player for a woman! Sure you must be thinking, “shouldn’t I be going in for one of those cute little pink iPod Nanos?” Na ah girl! No cute players for you – the iPod Touch means serious business. The bundled iPod headphones are good enough but incase you loose them, do not hesitate to combine good sound quality with some funk! You don’t have to be stuck with Plain Jane headphones either! Add some color, go retro, paint them…do whatever!

5) A pendrive.
The cornerstone of any perfect technology experience, a pendrive is a lifesaver! Whether its just a stupid file that you need to transfer or watch Star Wars with the boy geek, you MUST and I cannot stress the importance enough….MUST OWN A PENDRIVE. Now most of the ones we see in the stores are plain looking, but you can go crazy with the options available. Get your name monogrammed on it and voila…personalize the bitch outta it!

Now put all of that together with the perfect outfit and be the ultimate fashionable geek! Now when you choose to accessorize your LBD or a summer floral romper with some of these gadgets, you’re sure to make one helluva statement! Do not be afraid to be yourself…. Even with tech. After all, being a girl has its advantages!
