1) The roaring 20s Flapper Trend
It’s all about rebellious, glamorous style this season with drop-waist, shimmering dresses, luxe fabrics, faux fur shrugs and patent leather Mary Janes. You may as well make that big ticket purchase coz the flapper ladies are here to stay!
Ralph Lauren Spring Summer 2012 showed exuded The Great Gatsby Influence in his Spring Summer 2012 Collection (With Baz Luhrmann’s remake of “The Great Gatsby”, starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Carey Mulligan, slated for a 2012 release, Gatsby fashion fever is all set to soar)
2)Ebony and Ivory: A black and white rules our closets this winter, with the very crisp white shirts and pencil skirts, don’t put them away next summer. If runway trends are anything to go by, then it’s going to be a powerful, monochromatic, ebony-dominated summer 2012.
Check out Armani’s fantastic Spring Summer 2012 line up that endorses this super chic trend through next season. Strong, dramatic and classic. Loving this trend!
3) Asymmetrical hemlines
The bold thigh high slits, the flirty long-and-short hemlines and the calf length skirts rocked the red carpet and runway throughout 2011. Now this tough-to- carry-off trend sashays towards Spring Summer 2012, as it promises to add an element of fun in your wardrobe next season.
I particularly like Givenchy’s superbly cut asymmetric dresses and even fitted blouses. Watch out for these ultra chic pieces in pastels and sorbets alike.
4)Sheer: Sheer is here to stay! We adored those feminine, seductive sheer skirts but next summer is going to be all about light and sheer fabrics like net, chiffon and organza. Get ready for super girly, feather light summer 2012.
5) Structured bags
Dump that slouchy hobo bag and snag those chic envelope clutches, box bags and structured totes- it’s not about to get old next summer!
Currently crushing on Victoria Beckham’s tangerine summer bags for SS 2012
