I was like “What? You mean, no more frantic gestures to the mall attendants asking where on earth is H&M again, for the third time on the same day?” Being directionally challenged is just no good in the big bad mall with shiny objects all around. And kilometers to go before you finally find you want…Sigh!
FashLink to the rescue! Why break into a sweat when you can window shop while sitting pretty at home?
Fashlink, The first ‘Online Social Window-Shopping Fashion Guide’ is launched today to offer us, fashion crazy girls, a new way to give vent to our passion. It’s a website, it’s an app, its a social network…its an all- you- need guide to everything fabulously fashionable!
Pallav Patel, Partner at Fashlink.com, explained: “We have been overwhelmed by the response we have received from various brands and boutiques in the region. We have partnered with more than 70 brands ranging from high street to luxury to local boutiques; such as Top Shop ME, Splash, Noosh Couture, Polka Dot Cat, Fay Bijoux, Iconic, Miss Selfridge, New Look, Aldo, Reiss, BCBG MAXAZRIA, H&M, and United Designers to name a few. This amounts to over 3,500 individual items consisting of apparel, accessories, bags, shoes and more which we will keep building and updating weekly as we get more brands and products on board. Our aim is to offer our users a wide variety to window-shop and style from!”
Users can now find the items from fashion catalogs, create their own ‘Looks’ on the “Make A Look” page and add the items to their ‘Wish List’. Users can then save, print and take the Wish List with them on a shopping trip to purchase their desired items.
The ‘My Closet’ feature located in the “Make A Look” page allows users to upload photos of items from their personal wardrobe, which the Fashlink team will crop and prepare, to be used to create looks. Something like Polyvore, only more personal. Fashlink is also available as an app for the iPhone and iPad.
Community: FashLink will facilitate a public fashion community where people can share and find inspiration from looks created by brands or other users. This unique way to discover new brands and share great finds with friends makes online window-shopping a fun base to the real-life shopping experience.
View and Vote: This feature enables individuals to view ‘Looks’ created by other users and also display their own ensembles. They can also upload pictures of themselves wearing creative Looks that they need opinions on. Users are now able to share and receive opinions and rate others’ ‘Looks’ allowing them to engage in a creative dialogue on fashion.
“Consider us to be a Fashion search engine with styling and social aspects built in.” Payal Patel, Business Development Director at Fashlink.com sums it up in style.
