FY’s What to Wear:
To the first date
Do: Flirty, casual, fun
Don’t: OTT, intimidating, formal
Choose a dress:
Dresses are the perfect first date options! Opt for a no fuss number- you don’t want to look prissy and preoccupied on your date, do you. This summer, I’d pick a lovely 60’s style printed or lace shift dress …subtle, yet sexy and so chic. Add glamor with statement wedges or kitten heels. A personal favorite!
Choose a pair of jeans and a top:
If you’re more comfortable in jeans, then choose from the very stylish carrot trousers, color drenched denims or even the high waisted flared pants. Pair these with a smoking top- go off shoulder or strappy and accessorize with chunky bracelets and eye catching earrings.
Choose a skirt:
Full skirts, the paper bag skirt, floral, polka dotted… So many options to choose from! Select one that suits your figure the best. If you’re wide hipped, choose a black or trendy dark blue A-line skirt without prints. If you’re petite, I’d suggest a short polka dotted number.
Avoid statement jewelry and instead go for girly, pretty little things… leave your big work bag at home… you don’t want to seem like the girl with excess baggage! Carry one of these super chic clutches instead. Shoes are very important while on a date… be practical but stay stylish. Don’t go wearing heels to a beachside cafe! And this season, there’s a plethora of options in flats so heels are not the only tools to glam up your attire. Choose from brogues or pretty strappy flats or wedges and kitten heels for a date at the movies.
Stay natural- play up your eyes with double volume mascara, use an eyelash curler, add a pinch of color with a translucent lip and cheek tint, dab a little tinted lip balm and you’re good to go!
